Fourth Congress of World and Traditional Religions Is Opened in Astana

The fourth congress of world and traditional religions started its work at the Palace of peace and accord in Astana, a correspondent of “Interfax-Kazakhstan” agency informed.

The main theme of the congress is “Peace and harmony as the choice of mankind." It is planned to hold one plenary and four sectional sessions - "Role of religious leaders in achievement of sustainable development", "Religion and Multiculturalism," "Religion and the woman: spiritual values ​​and the current challenges," "Religion and youth."”

Azerbaijan ready to become interfaith bridge in Alliance of Civilizations

Azerbaijan is located at the intersection of West and East, North and South and therefore, the country can play the role of an inter-civilizational and interfaith bridge within the Alliance of Civilisations, Turkish Haberler news agency quotes Azerbaijani parliament's speaker Ogtay Asadov as saying.

"Azerbaijan supports Turkey in its efforts to promote interreligious and intercultural dialogue," Asadov said addressing at the UN forum 'Alliance of Civilisations'which opened yesterday in Istanbul.

Duke of York joins religious leaders at inter-faith summit at Central London Mosque

The Duke of York joined religious leaders at an inter-faith summit at the Central London Mosque in Regent’s Park on Monday.

The event, aimed at fostering harmony between Jews, Muslims and Christians, was organized by The Maimonides Foundation, a charity established by Iranian Jewish philanthropist Professor David Khalili.

He told the audience, which included Ahmed al-Dubayan, the mosque's director general: “As a Jew born in a Muslim country I have always been acutely aware of the perceived differences between the three Abrahamic faiths which represent the beliefs of over half the world.”
