Saudi-backed religious tolerance center opens in Vienna

Saudi Arabia inaugurated an interfaith center in Vienna Thursday and its foreign minister said he hoped the spirit of tolerance embodied by the new institution will help change his conservative Muslim country, which prohibits any religion except Islam.

Meeting believed to be first of its kind in Calgary

Rabbis and Islamic scholars in Calgary are meeting to discuss their views on the meaning and relevance of their religion's holiest scriptures.

They will be presenting their views on their holy books and what makes them holy and what the holy books say about peace and interfaith relations.

Interfaith meet to promote peace

The 9th Doha Conference on Interfaith Dialogue, which will be held from October 24 to 26 under the theme of “Social Media and Inter-Religious Dialogue: A New Relationship” aims to promote dialogue between different cultures and religions to boost regional and international peace and stability.

Speaking to Qatar news agency (QNA), Assistant Foreign Minister For Follow Up Affairs H E Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi said this year’s conference, which will bring together a large number of religious leaders of different faiths, prominent personalities and international organisations, discusses the role of social media and social networking in promoting interfaith dialogue
