France Hails Jordan as 'moderate voice' In Region

The Arab Summit Praises His Majesty King Abdullah’s Initiative of “A Common Word”

“The summit issued a statement on combating terrorism and hailed King Abdullah's "Common Word" initiative and the UN General Assembly's adoption of this initiative.

Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jabir Al Sabah, whose country headed the previous summit, expressed solidarity of Arab countries with Egypt in its efforts to confront terrorism.

Leaders of Orlando Faiths Pray Together For Peace and Justice

Dressed in clerical robes, suits, turbans, and yarmulkes, Orlando's religious leaders demonstrated their solidarity in support of peace, justice and nonviolence Wednesday night during an interfaith prayer service.

"It's my privilege to address you tonight, standing with these prestigious faith leaders of Orlando representing the many faith traditions here in Central Florida," Orlando Catholic Bishop John Noonan told a group of about 100 people at the Anglican Cathedral of the Incarnation.”

Universities Urged to Foster Interfaith Dialogue

“Universities must lead the way in fostering dialogue between faiths, academic and religious leaders say.

The academic world has "a premier role in confronting these challenges in the Arab region", Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, president of Zayed University and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, told an interfaith symposium.

He said the university had to carry on the work of the late president, Sheikh Zayed, who he said believed firmly in peace and tolerance.”
